Egypt’s weather to become warmer as of Thursday

Ahram Online , Wednesday 24 Nov 2021

Egypt is forecast to witness an increase in temperatures for six days starting Thursday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) reported.

The shift is a welcome change from last week's cold weather in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, and South Sinai, the EMA added.

Night lows will remain within last week's ranges, however.

The country's weather has been turbulent in the recent days, with moderate to heavy rains in several cities, such as Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt.

Eight governorates had to suspend school classes for a day or two until smooth traffic was restored and vacuum trucks drained rainwater.

According to the EMA, Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt are to see highs ranging from 24 to 28 degrees Celsius in the next six days, with lows of 16-17 degrees. The country's North Coast is to witness highs of 23-28 degrees and lows of 14-15.

South Sinai is expected to experience highs of 27-30 degrees Celsius and lows of 18-19, according to meteorologists, while Egypt's South will see highs ranging from 25 to 34 degrees and lows of 11-16.
