Schools close in 5 Egyptian governorates on Saturday due to unstable weather

The governors of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Dahaqliya decided on Friday to suspend classes on Saturday owing to the unstable weather and rain showers witnessed in various parts of the country since Thursday.

According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), parts of Cairo, Suez Canal cities, and south Upper Egypt will see light rain on Saturday.

Parts of the west North Coast and the Nile will witness light to moderate rain, whereas north Upper Egypt will see moderate rainfall on Saturday.

Sinai heights and the Red Sea governorate may see light to heavy rain.

The EMA added that the weather will lean to cold from the north of the country till north Upper Egypt and warmer in South Sinai and south Upper Egypt.

It will be extremely cold at night across Egypt, especially in central Sinai, where frost will accumulate.

According to the EMA, Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 17 degrees Celsius and lows of 11 degrees on Saturday.

The North Coast is expected to see highs of 17 degrees and lows of 11; South Sinai highs of 22 and lows of 14.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 17 and lows of 7, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 22 and lows of 11.
