In a statement on Sunday, the EMA also said mild rainfall is likely along the eastern coast, South Sinai, and the Red Sea mountain range.

From Monday through Saturday, temperatures will be cold in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt during the day time, the EMA said.

Temperatures will be on the colder side along the eastern coast and warmer in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

However, extremely cold weather is expected at night across Egypt, especially in central Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, where frost may accumulate.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 16-18 degrees Celsius and lows of 7-11 degrees between Monday and Saturday.

The North Coast is expected to see highs of 16-18 degrees and lows of 9-12; South Sinai highs of 20-24 and lows of 13-15.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 16-19 and lows of 5-8, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 20-24 and lows of 10-13.

According to the forecast, Saturday is expected to be the coldest day this week across the country, especially at night time.
