Egypt says hit by cold air mass from Europe

Egypt will be hit by a cold airmass from Europe, resulting in a significant drop in temperatures for the coming days, Egypt’s Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Monday.

In an official statement, the EMA said the cold air mass will be arriving from southern and eastern Europe, forecasting chances of snowfall in Sinai. 

Winds will be active in several parts of the country, the authority said, leading to a further cold sensation of the weather. 

Varying rainfall is expected from the northern region of the country until northern Upper Egypt, Sinai, and the Gulf of Suez.

Cairo is seeing highs of 15 degrees Celsius and lows of 9 degrees on Monday.

The northern coast is experiencing highs of 15 degrees and lows of 10 while South Sinai sees highs of 18 degrees and lows of 13.

The northern Upper Egypt sees highs of 16 and lows of 6, while southern Upper Egypt sees highs of 17 degrees and lows of 8.
