Egypt expected to witness unstable weather, rainfalls Thursday and Friday: EMA

The Greater Cairo, northern coast, and Upper Egypt will witness unstable weather with increasing wind activity causing disturbance in maritime navigation starting Thursday and will continue on Friday, the country’s Meteorological Authority (EMA) said.

The northern coast and the Nile Delta will see moderate rainfalls on Thursday, while on the same day at night the south of Delta and Greater Cairo are expected to witness light rainfall, according to an EMA statement on Tuesday. 

On Friday, the northern coasts and the north of Delta will experience moderate to heavy intermittent rainfalls while the south of Delta and Upper Egypt will witness light to moderate rains.

The EMA forecast that there would be a drop between 1-3 Celsius degrees in temperature from Thursday to Friday, and increasing wind activity.

On Saturday, light rainfall is expected on the northern coast, mist, and high wind activity on the roads leading to Cairo, Nile Delta, Upper Egypt, and Sinai.

Moreover, the authority warned that there will be a navigational disturbance in the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday and Friday due to the high waves that would reach 3-3.5 meters.
