South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, however, are set to experience warm weather during the daytime over the week, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Monday.
Furthermore, the EMA expects mild intermittent rainfall on northern Lower Egypt that may extend to Greater Cairo on Tuesday and mild to moderate rainfall on the North Coast and northern Upper Egypt.
Cold northern winds coming from southern Europe — which hit much of the country over the past week — are expected to persist on Tuesday, especially across parts of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, South Sinai, and southern Egypt.
Also, the EMA expects a possible disruption in maritime navigation on Tuesday due to strong gusts of up to 70 kilometres/hour and high waves of up to four metres.
Windy weather will also prevail across South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt on Wednesday and across parts of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the North Coast from Friday through Sunday.
However, as winter fades, the EMA expects a gradual rise in temperatures nationwide starting Thursday by 2-5 degrees Celsius.
Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt are expected to see highs of 16-17 degrees and lows of 8-9 until Wednesday, and highs of 19-23 degrees and lows of 10-11 from Thursday through Sunday.
The North Coast is expected to see highs of 15-16 degrees and lows of 10 until Wednesday, and highs of 17-21 degrees and lows of 11-13 from Thursday through Sunday.
Moreover, South Sinai will see highs of 20-21 degrees and lows of 11-12 until Wednesday, and highs of 22-26 degrees and lows of 15-16 from Thursday through Sunday.
Northern Upper Egypt is expected to see highs of 17-18 degrees and lows of 6-7, with temperatures expected to steeply rise starting Thursday to record highs of 20-26 degrees and lows of 8-11 until Sunday.
Additionally, southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 20-21 degrees and lows of 10 until Wednesday, with temperatures expected to record highs of 26-32 degrees from Thursday through Sunday.
