Secretary of the ministry of religious endowments, Fouad Abdel Azim, has announced that Friday prayer sermons will continue to be broadcast on loudspeakers.
He denied claims that loudspeakers would be banned, describing them as “rumors, aiming to destabilize security.”
Abdel Azim added that loudspeakers are necessary as many Muslims pray in the street due to lack of space in mosques, from where they need to be able to hear the Imam.
