South Sinai and Upper Egypt to see warm weather all week: EMA

Light and heavy showers are possible along the country's northern coasts over the weekend while South Sinai and Upper Egypt will see warm weather, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said Friday.

Chances of rain across some areas across the country will be higher on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, according to the EMA figures.

Meanwhile, South Sinai, which is set to host the COP27 6-18 November, and southern Upper Egypt, home to Luxor and Aswan, are expected to see warm weather throughout the week.

On Saturday, light rain could give way to heavy showers in parts of the northwestern coast and northern Lower Egypt.

Light to moderate rainfall is also possible in southern Upper Egypt on Saturday.

Meanwhile, parts of the North Coast and Lower Egypt could see moderate rainfall on Sunday and Monday.

The northwestern coast could get some light showers on Tuesday.

Otherwise, the EMA expects temperate weather during daytime in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, North Coast and northern Upper Egypt this week.

Temperatures

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 27-29 degrees Celsius and lows of 21-22 from Friday to Tuesday, 

The North Coast will see highs of 26-28 degrees and lows of 21-22.

South Sinai will experience highs of 30-32 degrees and lows of 24 degrees.

Southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 35 degrees and lows of 21-22.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 29-31 degrees and lows of 18-20.
