Ghanem said that normal daytime temperatures for this time of year in Egypt range from 22-23 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country.
She explained that warmer temperatures that people in Egypt have felt over the past several weeks, which are 1-2 degrees Celsius higher than normal, have recurued in Autumn in the country in previous years.
These warmer temperatures are being caused by air masses coming from the southwest and southeast desert, Ghanem added.
So what to expect this week?
Starting Friday, Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will experience highs of 22-25 degrees Celsius and lows of 13-15 degrees while the North Coast will see highs of 21-24 degrees and lows of 14-16 degrees.
South Sinai and Upper Egypt will experience even higher daytime temperatures with highs of 25-27 degrees and lows of 17-18 degrees.
North Upper Egypt will see highs of 23-26 degrees and lows of 10 degrees, while south Upper Egypt will see highs of 27-31 and lows of 14-15 degrees.
Temperatures will begin to drop the middle of next week, returning to average, with colder temperatures expected in the January and February, Ghanem assured Ahram Online.
