The Virgin Mary Church and Anba Bishoy is located in the Nargess district.

It was built in 2007 and its main building was inaugurated by the pontiff in 2016, making it the first Christian place of worship in the district.

At the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by several priests and bishops, the pope offered thanks to those who worked on building the church.

After the inauguration, the pontiff performed a mass.
