Those missing include two children aged 3 and 5 years old and their fathers.

The felucca boat, which was carrying seven people, sank near Abu-Hur Marina in Aswan Governorate, according to a statement issued by Aswan governorate on Monday.

Governor Ashraf Atteya said rescue teams pulled one passenger alive.

The governor said that the accident occurred amid inclement weather, strong wind, and airborne dust.

Dust storms are reducing visibility for tourist ships, sailing and fishing boats as well as ferries on the Nile, the governor said.

He ordered a halt to river navigation on the Nile from Aswan city to Edfu city and on Lake Nasser and the High Dam port as well as restrictions on vehicles on highways until the weather improves.

The prosecution is currently investigating the incident.

On Saturday, the Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) warned against reduced visibility this week due to strong winds and dust and sand storms that will hit different parts of the country.
