Temperature drop, rainfall, strong winds starting Monday

Several parts of Egypt are predicted to see unstable weather starting Monday, with a drop in temperatures, rainfall of varying intensity, and strong winds, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

The week is starting with warm weather on Saturday and Sunday with highs of 27-28 degrees in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta, and 28-31 degrees in Upper Egypt. Meanwhile, the North Coast will experience moderate weather with highs of 22-25 degrees, according to the EMA.

However, from Monday through Wednesday, inclement weather is expected in several parts of country, including northern Upper Egypt, Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate.

The EMA warns of a 40-70 percent chance of rainfall during this period.

Active winds are also expected in most of the country.

Additionally, there will be significant temperature changes. Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will experience a drop in daytime temperatures from 27 degrees on Monday to 21 degrees on Wednesday, and from 15 to 12 degrees at night. Meanwhile, the North Coast will see highs of 20 degrees and lows of 11-13 degrees.

South Sinai will see highs drop from 27 degrees on Monday to 25 degrees on Wednesday, and lows from 16 to 15 degrees.

In southern Upper Egypt, highs will drop from 32 degrees on Monday to 25 degrees on Wednesday, and lows from 15 to 14 degrees.

Finally, in northern Upper Egypt, highs will drop from 29 degrees to 22 degrees, and lows from 12 to 11 degrees.
