The event will take place at Cairo stadium, according to Talaat.

It follows previous events held on 10 March across 17 governorates to help prepare for the main event and to recruit volunteers, she said.

Such in-kind assistance involves distributing cartons during Ramadan that usually consist of food packages containing rice, oil, sugar and other necessities.

The initiative is called "Shoulder to Shoulder" and it aims to reach remote governorates, Talaat added.

She asserted that the initiative conducted studies on the beneficiary families to ensure that they receive what they needed.

The NACDW was launched in March 2022 to ensure that civil society institutions engage effectively with developing communities so as to provide services in areas such as health and education.

The 24-entity alliance includes Decent Life Initiative, Resala Charity Organization, Orman Association, and the Egyptian Food Bank.

Individuals interested in participating may apply through the NACDW’s social media platforms, Talaat concluded.

Egypt has launched a social support package to alleviate the negative impact of inflation on citizens.

The measures include increase in wages and pensions as well as tax breaks.
