Hot and humid weather blankets Egypt

With the Eid Al-Adha holiday wrapping up, vacationers returning to work or extending their stay on the beach should expect hot and humid weather through Sunday, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

Greater Cairo, the Delta governorates and the North Coast will experience hot weather during the day, with humidity increasing the felt temperature.

Tourist cities of Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Gouna, in addition to Sharm El-Sheikh and Dahab in South Sinai, will be even hotter.

The weather at night will be moderate nationwide, although humidity will be high, the EMA said.

Travellers returning from vacation in the early morning on Tuesday and Wednesday are advised to beware of fog on major roads.

Temperatures
 

The North Coast will see highs of 29-31 degree Celsius.

​Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 34-35 degrees.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 36-40 degrees, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 40-43.

South Sinai should brace for highs of 38-40 degrees.
