The fair, which carries the slogan Together, We Read, We Create, We Think, will continue until 19 July as a continuation of the Cairo International Book Fair, Ahmed Bahy El-Din, head of the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO), announced.
El-Kilani emphasized that this launch is part of the ministry's broader celebrations of the June 30 Revolution, which she described as a revolution that preserved the nation's identity and promoted honourable Egyptian values.
In addition to the ongoing fair, the minister announced that the Culture and Art for All initiative would continue its efforts to enhance knowledge among citizens by organizing a series of local book fairs across multiple governorates in the upcoming period.
She added that books ranging from EGP1-20 would be available at reduced prices, with additional discounts for students.
The second edition of the Opera Book Fair, which spans an area of 1,000 square metres, brings together the participation of 27 private publishing houses and various sectors of the Ministry of Culture.
To enrich the fair's offerings, GEBO will also contribute approximately 1,200 of its own publications.
