Minister of Education Reda Hegazy approved the results of the first round of exams from the 2022/2023 academic year, according to a statement by the ministry on Sunday.
The overall success rate stands at 78.8 percent.
This is a slight improvement over last year’s 75 percent success rate and 74 percent the year before, but still below the 81.5 percent in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The statement also announced the names of the top 10 students who achieved the highest grades in each of the math, science, and literature tracks.
The minister personally congratulated the top achievers through a phone call, as per the statement.
In a press conference on Monday, Hegazy revealed the success rates for the science (78.62 percent), math (79.78 percent), and literature (78.74 percent) tracks.
Students will have a two-week window to appeal their grades starting Thursday, Hegazy explained.
Those wishing to appeal will be able to do so from a location close to them and will not have to travel to the main headquarters at 6 October Educational City.
The exact locations have yet to be announced.
Students wishing to appeal will receive a photocopy of the answer sheet and the model answer sheets, the latter of which will be available on the ministry's website, Hegazy explained.
