Egypt to see slight drop in temperatures as of Thursday

A slight drop in temperatures is expected as of Thursday in north Egypt -- including in Cairo -- and northern Upper Egypt, according to the Egyptian Meteorologist Authority (EMA).

The EMA also predicted a 30-40 percent chance of slight to moderate rainfall intermittently on Thursday and Friday in southern Upper Egypt, including the cities of Halayeb and Shalateen and the Red Sea mountains.

Heavy morning fog is also expected to come down as of Thursday on the roads leading to Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the Northern Coast, Suez Canal cities, Sinai and Upper Egypt.

The EMA predicted highs of 27-28 degrees Celsius and lows of 20-21 degrees in Greater Cairo and Nile Delta governorates from Thursday to Sunday.

On the North Coast, high temperatures will register 27 degrees, and low temperatures will be 20 degrees.

South Sinai will see highs of 33-34 degrees and lows of 23-24 degrees.

In addition, northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 29-31 degrees and lows of 17 degrees, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 36-37 and lows of 22-23 degrees.
