"We call upon all the free and honourable people in the world who are appalled by the brutal siege imposed on the Palestinians to participate in a convoy that will gather in front of the Rafah border crossing under the slogan “Conscience of the World” to send a strong message demanding an end to the war,” read the syndicate’s statement.
The World’s Conscience convoy aims to apply pressure to open the Rafah crossing to allow all forms of humanitarian aid, such as food, water, medicine, and fuel, to enter the Gaza Strip and evacuate critical cases among the injured.
Furthermore, the convoy aims to advocate for the entry of medical teams, journalists, and anyone willing to help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians.
Until now, 821 aid trucks have been allowed to enter Gaza from Egypt through the Rafah crossing since deliveries resumed on 21 October.
However, 500 trucks a day on average used to cross into the enclave before the current crisis.
According to a statement by the UN’s Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Office on Friday, there is no aid access to hundreds of thousands of people who remain in northern Gaza.
Moreover, the convoy aims to send a global message to halt the escalating violence, stop the bloodshed of Palestinians, and further pressure for a ceasefire.
Almost 11,025 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israel’s war on Gaza, including 4,506 children, 3,027 women, and 678 senior citizens, and more than 27,000 have been injured since 7 October, according to a report by the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza on Friday.
Many journalists started circulating a registration form on social media for those wishing to participate in the World's Conscience Convoy.
According to the information on the form, the organizers plan to launch the convoy either on 17 November or, if they have to postpone it, no later than 24 November.
