The World Youth Forum (WYF) kicked off on Sunday with the "Youth for Reviving Humanity" initiative in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, embodying the WYF's culture of peace, tolerance, and understanding among youth around the globe.

World Youth Forum's 'Youth For Reviving Humanity' initiative commences in Sharm El-Sheikh, 3 December, 2023

The WYF initiative, taking place from 3 to 5 December 2023, comes in response to the escalating global challenges and conflicts, promoting peace through dialogue and intercultural understanding.

The "Youth For Reviving Humanity" initiative started with a session titled 'Together Towards a Peaceful World,' where speakers explored strategic approaches for a more peaceful and unified world.

The initiative will also offer assistance to those affected by wars and conflicts, around the globe. It will also facilitate partnerships between youth and international bodies.

"Youth for Reviving Humanity" includes a range of activities such as workshops, field trips, and interactive sessions led by experts and thought leaders in areas like conflict resolution, human rights, and peacemaking.

In February, the WYF announced the cancellation of this year’s edition of the annual event, and that its budget would be redirected towards five development initiatives, due to the ongoing global economic crises.

The WYF was launched in 2017 under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, to bring young people together from around the globe to discuss development issues and send a message of peace from Egypt to the world.
