Menna Osama, Thursday 21 Dec 2023

As the winter season officially begins on Friday, accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures nationwide, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) advises individuals with sinusitis and chest allergies to wear masks when venturing outside, given the active winds carrying sand and dust.

According to the EMA’s forecast for Friday, the temperature is expected to slightly drop across Egypt, with Cairo to see highs of 20 degrees Celsius.

The northern region of the country will be cloudy, blocking sun rays and increasing the feeling of cold weather.

During the daytime, there will be active winds carrying sand and dust in Cairo, the Nile Delta, the northeastern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt, causing low horizontal visibility on the northwestern coasts and the Western Desert.

Chances of moderate rainfall are also forecasted along the northwestern coasts, while the southern areas of the Red Sea Mountains are expected to experience low rainfall.

Temperatures

From Friday to Wednesday, Cairo and the Nile Delta will experience highs of 20-23 degrees and lows of 13-15 degrees.

South Sinai will see highs of 24-27 degrees and lows of 16-17 degrees.
