The marathon was inaugurated by Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy and took place under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
The marathon will allocate its revenues to the Misr El-Kheir Foundation, Al-Nas Hospital, and other hospitals.
Runners will compete for 5,000 prizes with a total value of EGP10 million ($324,000), in addition to Umrah pilgrimage trips.
UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mariam Al-Kaabi attended the marathon, which was named for the country's founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
She highlighted the deep relationship between the two countries, noting that previous editions of the marathon were well-attended by Egyptians.
For his part, Sobhy praised the participation by youth, people of all ages, and people with disabilities.
A total of 3,884 people with disabilities participated in the marathon.
He further pointed out the great developmental role of the Zayed Charity Marathon, extending his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to its success.
