Enjoy it while you can! Warmer-than-average days expected across Egypt

Major parts across the country, including greater Cairo, the North Coast and northern Upper Egypt, will be warmer than average during the day through Friday, Egypt’s Meteorological Authority (EMA) reported on Sunday.

The EMA also forecast a 30-40 percent chance of rain in parts of the North Coast and the Nile Delta from Tuesday to Thursday.

Light wind is also expected along some parts of the North Coast and North Sinai during the same period.

Temperatures
 

Greater Cairo will see highs of 22-23 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday, decreasing to 20 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, and further dropping to 19 degrees on Thursday and Friday. 

Nighttime lows in Cairo will decline from 14 degrees on Sunday to a steady 12 degrees from Monday through Friday.

The North Coast will witness highs of 23 degrees on Sunday, gradually decreasing to 18-20 degrees until Friday. Nighttime lows will decline from 12 degrees on Sunday to 10 degrees Monday through Friday.

In South Sinai, daytime temperatures are expected to be warm, ranging from 24-27 degrees, with moderate nighttime temperatures between 15-17 degrees throughout the week. 

Northern Upper Egypt will experience weather similar to Greater Cairo, with daytime highs of 19-23 degrees from Sunday to Friday. Nighttime temperatures will drop to a chilly 7-8 degrees.

Southern Upper Egypt will have warmer daytime temperatures, reaching 27-29 degrees from Sunday to Tuesday, dropping to 26 degrees on Wednesday, and further to 23 degrees on Thursday and Friday.

Nighttime temperatures in southern Upper Egypt will range from 11-13 degrees throughout the week.

Winter began in Egypt and the rest of the northern hemisphere on 22 December, and will last for 89 days.
