The EMA's latest satellite images reveal an uptick in low and medium rain clouds over areas in Alexandria and Kafr El-Sheikh, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, with some areas experiencing moderate precipitation.
The heightened wind activity in the Mediterranean Sea is causing disruptions in maritime navigation, with waves surpassing 3m in height and contributing to a colder weather sensation.
On Tuesday, the EMA expected light to moderate rain on the northwestern coasts, the northern part of the Delta, the northeastern coasts, and southern areas along the Red Sea Mountains to occur on Wednesday and continue through Sunday.
There is a slight chance of light rain on Wednesday evening in some areas in Greater Cairo, according to the EMA.
Cooler weather across Egypt
Greater Cairo will experience highs of 19 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, further dropping to 18 degrees on Thursday and Friday, rising again to 19 degrees on Saturday, and then decreasing to 18 degrees on Sunday.
Nighttime lows in Cairo will range 10-11 degrees from Wednesday through Sunday.
The North Coast will witness highs of 17-18 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, increasing to 19 degrees on Friday and Saturday, and dropping to 16 degrees on Sunday. Nighttime lows will decline from 13 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday to 11 degrees on Friday through Sunday.
In South Sinai, daytime temperatures are expected to range from 22 to 24 degrees, with nighttime temperatures between 14 and 15 degrees throughout the week.
Northern Upper Egypt will experience a weather similar to Greater Cairo, with daytime highs of 18-19 degrees from Sunday to Friday. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 6-7 degrees.
Southern Upper Egypt will see a warm weather on Wednesday with a high of 27 degrees, which will drop to 22 degrees on Thursday and Friday, increasing by one degree on Saturday and then dropping to 21 degrees on Saturday.
Nighttime temperatures in southern Upper Egypt will range from 10-11 degrees from Wednesday to Sunday.
Winter began in Egypt and the rest of the northern hemisphere on 22 December, and will last for 89 days.
