The conditions are attributed to an air depression, currently centred over the Mediterranean Sea, according to the weekly weather forecast released by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Affecting Egypt, the depression will bring cold and humid air masses, increasing the feeling of coldness, warned the EMA.
The EMA also anticipated a disruption in maritime navigation as the wavelength is expected to exceed three metres.
The unstable weather will persist until Tuesday.
The EMA also expected cold weather to prevail across the country through Friday.
Highs of 18-20 degrees Celsius and lows of 11-15 degrees are expected in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Northern Coast this week.
South Sinai will see highs of 22-28 degrees and lows of 13-16 degrees.
Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 18-22 degrees and lows of 6-9 degrees, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 20-27 degrees and lows of 9-12.
