Philip Morris raises prices of cigarettes, heated tobacco in Egypt
Philip Morris Egypt announced on Sunday the new price list for all its tobacco products, including "HEETS" and "TEREA" heated tobacco sticks, as well as traditional cigarettes under the Marlboro, Merit, and L&M brands, in their various types.
The new price hike ranges between EGP 8-11.
The company affirmed in a statement that the new prices are transparently displayed on the product packaging through a Quick Response (QR) code link, which has been placed on the packaging of traditional cigarettes and heated tobacco sticks since 2022.
It stated that it has raised the price of Merit cigarettes to EGP 85 per pack from the previous EGP 74, Marlboro cigarettes to EGP 79 from 69 previously, and L&M cigarettes to EGP 59 from 50 previously.
The official price for a pack of HEETS Selections heated tobacco sticks, HEETS Dimensions heated tobacco sticks, and Terea heated tobacco sticks has become EGP 64.
In November, Philip Morris Misr increased the prices of its tobacco products by 15-20.5 percent, following the country's state-owned Eastern Company's move to raise the prices of its products.
