Chill returns: Egypt braces for colder, rainy weather this week!

After a week of warm sun, get those heavy coats out again as temperatures will gradually decline starting Tuesday evening through Saturday, while showers, sometimes thunderous, are expected in the northern cities, as well as Greater Cairo and Sinai.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects days will be cold and the nights chillier, with wind decreasing the felt temperature even more.

On Monday night and until mid-Tuesday, wind will stir up dust and sand nationwide.

Temperatures

Tuesday through Saturday, highs of 17-22 degrees Celsius and lows of 10-13 degrees are expected in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the North Coast.

South Sinai will see highs of 23-24 degrees and lows of 13-16 degrees.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 19-23 degrees and lows of 6-9 degrees, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 22-27 degrees and lows of 9-13 degrees.
