As the country's largest mobile operator with over 40 million customers, Vodafone Egypt's subscribers woke up to find no internet or mobile network access.
However, services were restored by midday.
In a statement circulated by local media, the company attributed the blackout to one of its network components earlier in the morning.
The issue primarily affected the 4G network with many users regaining mobile access by switching to 2G or 3G.
Numerous customers took to social media to report internet issues and express their disappointment with the company's performance.
Attempts to reach the company's customer service by Ahram Online were unsuccessful, with a 15-minute wait on hold yielding no response
