Al-Azhar’s Zakat and Charity House launched on Monday its sixth relief convoy to support the people in Gaza, as part of its international campaign "Aid Gaza".

This convoy is part of the relief bridge launched by the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House under the auspices of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayyeb.

The convoy, the sixth under the "Aid Gaza" campaign and the second during the holy month of Ramadan, consists of 100 trucks, carrying 2,000 tons of food, water, medical supplies, blankets, comforters, and mattresses.

The Egyptian Zakat and Charity House had sent 325 trucks, carrying approximately 6,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid, to Gaza since the start of the war.

More than eighty countries participated in preparing the caravan.

The convoy will deliver the aid through the Rafah border crossing with the strip.

Since 7 October, the Israeli war on Gaza has killed more than 32,000 and injured over 75,000, mostly women and children.

Meanwhile, the Israeli blockade on the strip has left most of the 2.4 million population in the strip on the brink of famine.
