Police and army martyrs’ sons also were present, along with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayyeb, Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Grand Mufti Shawki Allam, and several other ministers and senior officials.
The prayers started with reciting some Holy Quran verses, followed by takbir (praise to God).
Then, the imam delivered the Eid sermon, urging people to adhere to righteousness and piety.
After the prayers, President El-Sisi moved to the NAC hall to celebrate the Eid Al-Fitr festival with the sons of martyrs.
El-Sisi expressed his happiness to participate in this celebration, lauding the sacrifices offered by those martyrs for Egypt and its security.
The celebrations featured artistic shows and various activities.
Early Wednesday, El-Sisi exchanged greetings with the kings, presidents, and princes of the Arab and Islamic countries, wishing them a blessed Eid and praying to God Almighty to accept their fasting and prayers.
Furthermore, he wished them and their nations a prosperous future full of peace and stability.
President El-Sisi also sent his heartfelt Eid greetings, through Egypt's diplomatic missions worldwide, to Egyptian Muslims residing abroad.
