The mercury is expected to climb gradually through the weekend, reaching temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius in various areas across the country, including Greater Cairo.
In Greater Cairo, temperatures will reach highs of 33 degrees and lows of 19 by Wednesday before slightly declining on Thursday and Friday to 31 and 30, respectively.
High temperatures in the North Coast – including the cities of Alexandria and Matrouh – will remain below 30 degrees except for Wednesday when they reach 31 degrees.
Sharm El-Sheikh, Dahab, and Nuweiba in South Sinai will experience highs of 31-34 degrees and lows of 21-22 degrees.
Although the weather will be much warmer in Upper Egypt, people need not fear a scorching sun, as high temperatures in Beni Suef and Assiut reach 36 degrees on Wednesday and 38 degrees in Luxor and Aswan on Thursday and Friday.
Finally, the EMA warned that people should expect a strong wind on Wednesday that stirs dust and sand and reduces warm RealFeel® temperatures.
