15-20 June paid holiday for Eid Al-Adha in Egypt

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that public employees will take a six-day break from Saturday 15 June to Thursday 20 June to celebrate the Muslim feast of Eid Al-Adha.

This holiday applies to employees in ministries, government institutions, public authorities, local administration units, public companies, and public enterprise sectors, according to a cabinet statement.

The Ministry of Labour is expected to announce the Eid Al-Adha holiday for private-sector employees.

The four-day Al-Adha feast, which falls on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar, starts on Sunday.

It is one of the two religious holidays in Islam, along with Eid Al-Fitr, marks the end of the holy month of fasting, Ramadan.

Muslims in Egypt will attend the Eid Al-Adha prayers at 6:16am Cairo Local Time.
