The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predict hot weather across most parts of the country from Thursday till Saturday, with the temperature in Cairo peaking at 42 degrees.
The temperature will drop slightly between 3-4 degrees Celsius starting from Sunday, the first day of Eid Al Adha, in Northern parts of Egypt and the Greater Cairo area.
Greater Cairo will witness a high of 39 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees starting Sunday. Egypt’s Northern coasts will have a high of 30 degrees and a low of 22 degrees, while South Sinai will continue to witness high temperatures with a high of 43 degrees and a low of 29 degrees.
Northern Upper Egypt will witness high temperatures of 44 degrees and a low of 27 degrees, whereas Southern Upper Egypt will have a high of 47 degrees and a low of 30 degrees.
The weather will be milder on the northern coasts and mild at night across most areas, while South Sinai and Upper Egypt will experience warmer temperatures.
Winds will be intermittingly active in several parts of Greater Cairo, the Delta region, the eastern coasts, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.
The MEA forecasts light to moderate conditions in the Mediterranean, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 1.5 metres and northwestern winds blowing.
Similarly, the authority predicted that the height of waves in the Red Sea would range from 1.5 to 2 metres, accompanied by northwestern winds.
