The exhibition is one of the festival’s key initiatives to nurture and preserve cultural heritage. It also aims to market local handicrafts.

According to Extra News, the event has been organized by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the National Council for Women.

“The National Council for Women granted us the opportunity to display our products here (at the exhibition), in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity… the place and the exhibition are perfectly tailored for our purpose,” said one of the female artisan participants.

Visitors to the exhibition can explore the history of luxurious Egyptian antiques dating back to the times of the Pharaohs, said Extra News reporter.

The exhibition showcased a variety of remarkable handicrafts: fine porcelain, handmade carpets decorated with Islamic patterns, wooden products, and jewellery.

Moreover, it also promoted the work of artisans with disabilities, who despite difficulties generated creative artwork, Extra News reported.

According to the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the exhibition opens daily from 5 pm to 2 am and continues until 25 August.

Organized by United Media Services for the second year, the New Alamein Festival, running until 30 August, showcases concerts, exhibitions, beach activities, and entertainment events.
