Stay hydrated and wear loose clothing as much of the country will experience a heatwave in the coming days with higher humidity levels, reported the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
According to the EMA, the North Coast, South Sinai, and Upper Egypt expect hotter weather, with moderate nights in the country’s northern part and hot in the south.
Light to moderate rain, and possibly thundershowers, are expected in several southern regions – including Halaib and Shalateen, Ras Banas, Marsa Alam, Aswan, New Valley, Luxor, and Qena – particularly on Sunday and Monday.
Strong southerly winds are also expected to whip up sand and dust on some roads across the country, with conditions intensified by downdrafts from thunderclouds, added the EMA.
However, maritime navigation in the Mediterranean and Red Seas will remain stable with 1-1.5 metres of wave height.
Highs in Greater Cairo and Nile Delta will hover between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, while feels-like temperatures are expected to reach 37-39 degrees this week.
The North Coast will be cooler, with temperatures of around 32-34 degrees, feeling like 36-37 degrees.
In South Sinai, the mercury is expected to record 40-41 degrees, which could feel like 42-43 degrees.
Northern Upper Egypt will experience actual temperatures of 39-40 degrees and feels-like temperatures of 41-42 degrees.
The country’s deep south will experience highs of 42-45 and feels-like temperatures of 43-46 degrees.
