Minor magnitude 2.0 earthquake felt in Cairo, no damage reported

An earthquake measuring 2.0 on the Richter scale was felt in Cairo Tuesday afternoon with no damages or casualties were reported, reported the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG).

 The National Seismic Network, which are affiliated with the institute, recorded an earthquake on Tuesday, 27 August 2024 at 4:05pm in various parts of Greater Cairo, said the NRIAG.

Dr. Taha Rabah, the head of the NRIAG, told Ahram that residents in the capital, particularly in Maadi and Dar El-Salam in south Cairo, felt the quake
