Addressing the Digital Learning Week 2024 conference in Paris, he noted that the EKB is one of the most prominent public digital platforms in the Arab region, Middle East, and Africa, according to UNESCO and UNICEF’s recognition, appreciated Ashour.
It also aims to reach learners at all educational levels, while establishing partnerships with national and international publishers, the minister said.
The EKB, in collaboration with international partners, created over 28,000 digital learning resources in multiple languages for students from kindergarten to secondary school, the minister explained.
Meanwhile, it offers technological solutions supporting the educational process, such as learning management systems, electronic examination systems, and student information systems, he added.
It also provides specialized professional services aimed at improving the international ranking of Egyptian universities and supporting excellence programs in medical, engineering, and pharmaceutical education, as well as international accreditation programs.
Ashour called on UNESCO to provide adequate support to developing countries, especially in Africa, to establish strong national digital platforms like the EKB.
The EKB, launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in 201, aims to gather international encyclopaedias, online publications, research papers, theses, books and articles in one website.
The content is accessible to any user with an Egyptian IP address.
