The EMA noted that rainfall and wind will enhance the feeling of cold weather in the country's northern parts.

Light morning fog is expected Monday on some agricultural and significant roads near water bodies. Fog might intensify in Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai.

The EMA forecasted that moderate winds may also occur intermittently in parts across southern Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the North Coast are expected to reach 18 degrees in the morning by Friday and drop to 10 degrees at night.

Similarly, the EMA predicted that northern Upper Egypt's daytime temperatures would reach 19 degrees by the end of this week, with much cooler nighttime lows of 5 degrees.

Meanwhile, temperatures in southern Upper Egypt will rise to 22 degrees in the morning and drop to 9 degrees at night.

Authorities in Alexandria are preparing for a seasonal storm, which is expected to begin Thursday and last for five days.

According to the Alexandria Port Authority's rainstorm schedule, the storm occurs annually on 19 December.

According to the EMA, Alexandria and other coastal cities in Egypt usually experience 18 to 20 winter gales yearly. These vary from cold spells and heavy rain to hazardous sea conditions.

ِAstronomical calculations set 21 December as the beginning of winter in Egypt.
