“On the International Youth Day, I salute the loyal youth of Egypt. With their national awareness, strong determination, and effective contributions, they are building a present that befits Egypt's ancient history,” El-Sisi wrote on his official Facebook page.

He further said that the Egyptian youth are looking forward towards a future aligned with that of advanced nations, while remaining firmly dedicated to safeguarding the homeland.

He added that Egyptian youth aspire to a future on par with developed nations while remaining firmly committed to safeguarding national stability.

“They look forward to a future that keeps pace with developed countries, while showing a strong commitment to the stability of the homeland and its protection from the dangers surrounding the region,” he said, expressing “all appreciation and pride for the youth of our precious Egypt.”

According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egyptians aged 18–29 numbered 21.3 million in 2025, accounting for 19.9 percent of the population of 107.2 million.

Adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in 1998, International Youth Day is observed annually on 12 August to celebrate the energy, creativity, and role of young people in shaping the future.

This year’s theme — Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond — underscores the role of youth in advancing development, with more than 65 percent of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals linked to local governance.
