The ministry stated that 16 ambulances were dispatched to the scene by the Egyptian Ambulance Organization and the Emergency and Urgent Care Sector.
Three students were treated on site, while 21 others were taken to the hospital – 13 to Agami Specialized Hospital and eight to Al-Amriya General Hospital.
Those injured are being treated for asphyxia caused by drowning under specialist supervision, officials said.
Health minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar said he was closely following medical and emergency measures, stressing the ministry’s commitment to supporting the injured and their families.
The ministry also urged the public to follow safety guidance on beaches, particularly during group trips, to prevent further accidents.
Drowning incidents are common in Egypt during the summer months, especially along the Mediterranean coast, where rising sea waves pose heightened risks.
