The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned that sweltering conditions will stretch from the northern coasts to the southern deserts, offering little relief once the sun sets.

In Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, the mercury will hover between 36°C and 37°C, leaving the capital swathed in a near-constant heatwave.

Along the North Coast, the weather is slightly kinder: highs start at 33°C on Monday, easing to 31°C by Friday—a modest coastal breather from the inland furnace.

Northern Upper Egypt won’t be much kinder, with temperatures swinging between 37°C and 39°C, while the deep south will bear the brunt: the southern deserts open the week at a searing 42°C, staying stubbornly around 41°C through Friday.

Thick humidity will make it feel 2–4°C hotter than the thermometer suggests.

There is a hint of drama in the south: the New Valley Governorate may see intermittent rain on Monday, occasionally accompanied by thunder, and fleeting winds could offer temporary relief.

Elsewhere, winds sweeping across the country should slightly temper nighttime heat, but Egypt’s summer grip remains firm.

For anyone hoping to escape the swelter, the North Coast and fleeting southern showers are your best bets—otherwise, it’s sunscreen, water, and a lot of shade.
