In a Facebook post, El-Sisi said that the Egyptian national football team has brought joy to the hearts of Egyptians who followed their journey with pride and admiration, proving that determination and perseverance are the path to success.
“This qualification is the result of sincere efforts and dedication from the players and both the technical and administrative staff, and merits all appreciation and respect,” he wrote.
President El-Sisi urged the team to continue exerting their utmost effort during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to deliver a performance befitting Egypt's status and football history, and to reflect an honourable image of Egyptian sports to the world.
“May Allah grant you success in your future endeavours and may you remain a source of pride and happiness for Egypt and its people.” he concluded.
Earlier Wednesday, Egypt secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Djibouti in a Group A qualifier at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Morocco.
