Furniture production recorded a sharp increase, with the index climbing 60.57 percent to 374.26 in December from 233.08 in November, also due to higher output.
By contrast, the leather and leather products industry index fell by 25.73 percent to 38.25 in December from 51.50 in November, which CAPMAS attributed to lower exports.
The paper and paper products sector index declined by 7.24 percent to 74.99 in December from 80.84 in November, due to temporary production stoppages for maintenance, the agency said.
