A Cairo criminal court on Saturday adjourned the trial of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, along with his two sons and former top aides, to Monday.

Mubarak, along with his interior minister, Habib El-Adly, and six top security aides, are being retried over charges of complicity in the killing of demonstrators in the 2011 uprising that toppled the Mubarak regime.

His two sons, Alaa and Gamal, are being retried alongside the ex-president on charges of corruption and squandering public funds.

The trial has been adjourned to listen to the testimony of former interior minister aide Hassan Abdel-Rahman. The court has heard a series of testimonies in the past month's sessions.

Mubarak received a life sentence in June 2012 for failing to protect unarmed anti-regime protesters during the 2011 revolution, and was granted a retrial in January 2013 due to procedural irregularities in the initial trial.

El-Adly was also sentenced to life in prison and then granted a retrial.
