The government has announced Sunday 8 June a day off for the public sector as Egypt's President-elect Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will be sworn in office, according to state TV.
Sunday will be a normal working day for schools and universities, currently sitting for their end of year examinations.
El-Sisi achieved a landslide victory in Egypt's presidential elections last week, gaining 96.9% of the valid votes.
