Egypt's embassies in Spain, China, Finland, Congo and Ivory Coast are celebrating the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution, marking the mass protests that lead to the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

In Spain, Egyptian Ambassador Ayman Zein El-Din held a special celebration for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic recognition between the two countries at the ancient Egyptian Debod Temple in Madrid.

The celebration was attended by more than 2,000 people, including Spanish governmental officials, parliamentarians and diplomats, as well as members of the Egyptian community.

Ambassador Zein El-Din gave a speech during the occasion about Egypt's 23 July 1952, 25 January 2011 and 30 June 2013 revolutions, as well as developments currently taking place in Egypt and bilateral relations between Egypt and Spain.

Ambassador Magdi Amar, Egypt's ambassador in Beijing, held a reception at the embassy where he invited Chinese officials and members of the Egyptian community in China.

During his speech at the reception, Ambassador Amar expressed Egypt's appreciation for what he said was China's continuous support for Egypt, especially after the 30 June Revolution.

In Finland, Ambassador Mahmoud El-Deeb also held a reception in the Egyptian embassy in Helsinki where he praised what he said was greater Egyptian independence in its decision making and the progress it achieved in the political roadmap instated after 30 June 2011.

In Congo, Ambassador Ashraf Ibrahim held a reception at the ambassador's residence in Kinshasa to celebrate both the 23 July and 30 June revolutions. The reception was attended by a number of Congolese officials, foreign ambassadors in Congo, and representatives of the UN and its agencies.

The Egyptian embassy in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, also organised a reception attended by a number of Ivorian officials.
