A bomb explosion took place next to the 10th of Ramadan city's natural gas pipeline for the second time since August

A homemade bomb went off Monday next to the main natural gas pipeline in 10th of Ramadan city, causing no injuries or harm to the pipeline, reported Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Another bomb that was defused by police was found meters away while searching the area, according to security officials.

The bomb was not strong enough to affect the pipeline or the flow of the gas, according to experts and security officials.

The bombing took place at kilometer 62 on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert road in front of 10th of Ramadan city, according to the head of Sharkeya governorate's security directorate Sameh El-Kilany.

The 10th of Ramadan natural gas pipeline was also bombed 7 August with no casualties, which was the first time a pipeline was attacked outside of Sinai.

The Sinai pipeline located in Arish and leading to Aqaba in Jordan, which was used to export gas to Jordan and Israel, has been bombed 24 times in the past three years.
