A source from the Amr Mousa presidential campaign denied accusations of assaulting April 6 members. The source told Ahram Online that Mousa had faced assaults from troublemakers and denied that Mousa is related to the old regime.
Instead the source said that a fight had erupted between former regime supporters and some of the youth present at Mousa’s public conferences, misinterpreted as one between Mousa supporters and the youth.
The source also said that assaults on Mousa are neither related to the Revolution Youth Coalition or the April 6 movement, as claimed.
Mousa’s campaign says it avoids inviting any of the former members of the dismantled parliament or any persons who have been involved in corruption under the old regime.
The fights, after which allegations were directed at the Mousa campaign, had erupted on April 27. As the source explains, the fights were triggered between former National Democratic Party members and several of the youth present at one of the Mousa campaign’s public conferences.
