Ahram Online, Friday 6 May 2011

Gamal Mubarak is to be held for another 15 days in prison, pending investigations into illegal profiteering and other charges. No decision made on his brother, Alaa Mubarak

Gamal Mubarak will be detained for another 15 days pending investigation, according to Essam El-Gohary, the head of the Illicit Profiteering Authority.

Hosni Mubarak’s younger son is accused of illegally accumulating wealth and using his position as head of the Policies Committee in the now defunct National Democratic Party to increase his wealth and power.

El-Gohary however, decided to postpone a decision regarding Mubarak’s older son, Alaa, because his lawyer, Farid El Deeb, was not available to defend him.

The duo were questioned for seven hours in Tora Prison, where they have been held since 13 April.
