Cairo witnessed today four major protests .

The first protest was held by 300 Salafists who have marched towards Nour Mosque in the Abbasiya district of Cairo to express their anger over the assassination of Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden by US forces last week.

Another 300 pro-Palestine protesters are currently holding a demonstration in front of the Israeli embassy in Giza. The protest was called by the Organising Committee of the 3rd Palestinian Intifada.

Hundreds more headed to Tahrir Square early today to show solidarity with the Arab revolutions currently ongoing in Libya, Yemen, Syria and Bahrain. The protest was organised by the January 25 Revolution Youth and other political forces.

The fourth protest was staged by approximately three thousand Copts in front of the Coptic Cathedral in Abbasiya who gathered there to support the cathedral from possible attacks by Salafists.
