The January 25 Youth Coalition call Egypt's security forces' handling of the recent fatal sectarian clashes ‘chaotic and passive’

The January 25 Youth Coalition sounded dissatisfaction over security forces’ inability to ‎handle sectarian violence in the rundown neighbourhood of Imbaba, Giza, Saturday night.

At least 12 were killed and 240 were injured after Muslims and Copts exchanged gunfire, ‎firebomb and stones.‎

The January 25 Youth Coalition’s statement read: “Handling security issues is still chaotic ‎and passive. The culprits of this incident must stand civil trial,” they demanded.‎

Police and military forces are accused of having arrived late to the melee that exploded near the two ‎churches in Imbaba.‎
